Crawford Brothers
to exhibit at Paris Show
Crawford
Brothers will be the first livestock breeders from
the UK to show cattle from the AI stud Cogent, outside
the British Isles.
Our
bull Sauvignon will travel to the French Sima show
in Villepinte on the out skirts of Paris. The show,
which is one of the biggest livestock and machinery
shows in the world, starts on the 4th March and runs
to 8th March 2007 and, with over 100 entries in the
Limousin section we will be taking on some of the top
Limousin breeders in France.
We took the decision last October to take on this
mammoth task, and due to the tremendous help and support
from Defra in London; the paperwork has been straightforward.

We will also have a trade stand at the show, where
there will be inward buying missions from the likes
of Mexico and other countries. We want to tap into
these markets as well as meeting our existing customers
from the eastern European countries and following up
on our business with them.
We always like to set the bar higher and meet new
challenges in the livestock sector head on, and if
we manage to be in the top line up, we will be very
happy.
We have also been offered help from the British Embassy
in France as well from the UK trade and investment
and British Livestock Genetics. We are looking forward
to this challenge and it will be a major boost to,
not only to the Limousin breed it will highlight, but
Northern Ireland genetics as well.
Vigot, our young
bull was also entered for the show, but due to the
demand of sexed semen, he will stay
at the Cogent stud. We will use the show to showcase
the sexed semen from the only 2 Limousin bulls in the
world currently involved in the venture, and the first
of any beef breed in Europe. |
