On the 23rd October 2008 The Crawford family
travelled as guests of the Irish Limousin Society
to the launch of the book Irish Limousin - A
History written by Donal O'Brien.

The launch was made by the Minster
of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mr Brendan
Smith TD in the luxury setting of Kinnity Castle,
we were honoured to be part of the 160 guests
invited to the launch.
In February 2008, Crawfords were asked to help
compile the book by author Donal O'Brien.

In
1984 we were interbreed champions at the Royal
Dublin Show the team was Tango and Pelisse.

Pelisse
having won the Breed championship earlier in
the show. The following year Pelisse was crowned
breed champion again then she joined up with
Dr Roger McCarricks Castle Ural to win the Interbreed
championship again.
Other Northern Ireland breeders featured were
Terry Robinsion and the late William Mulligan.
Raymond and Stephen say that to this day they
have exhibited at all the Royals in UK and Ireland,
but there has not been another Royal to beat
the spectacle and atmosphere of the Royal Dublin
Show for doing business.

Cattogs Margretta |
Another success for the Crawfords was in 1986
when their cow Cattogs Margretta was the Royal
Dublin Show female champion, Cattogs Margretta
born on 2nd January 1977, was the first Northern
Ireland animal registered in the herd book.
The Derg herd of John Allen also features in
the book, it was one of the first founded herds
and joined the Irish Limousin Society in 1978.
A bull from the herd Derg Allen is also pictured
in the book.
In the 1970's Karingal Marabou a cow bred by
Nicholas Grubb sold to John Allen in Co Tyrone.
Also featured is Millbrook Senhorita bought
by the Crawfords in 2003 for an Irish record
of 42,000 euros.
The Crawford family founded their Limousin herd
nearly 30 years ago after breeding pedigree livestock
for 70 years.
