Crawford Brothers
win Limousin Herd Competition and Show Team of
the Year 2008

The Crawford family travelled to Armagh City
Hotel on Saturday 29th November 2008, to the
Northern Ireland Limousin Clubs annual dinner
dance, where they were announced as winners of
both the Show Team of the Year and the Medium
Herd Competition.

The herd competition was judged this year by
Mr David Thomlinson, a Limousin breeder from
Carlisle who is also main Limousin Auctioneer
for Harrison & Hetherington Ltd.

David mentioned in his speech, the depth and
quality of the Crawford’s females he said, “ I
have a long list of here, but it would take all
night to talk of them individually”. He
congratulated the boys on the way that they professionally
turned out the cattle and their in depth knowledge
of the breeding lines of the cattle, he also
had a special mention for Herbie’s wife
Mrs Crawford, on being able to come to the dinner
dance in spite of her illness.

As well as competing in all the Royals across
the water, at one stage in the year, we had 3
show teams on the move together with one in Southern
Ireland, this worked well with us winning all
3.

Mr Brian McElroy chairman of the Limousin club
also mentioned Mrs Crawford, and on behalf of
the club he presented her with a bouquet of flowers,
the family was very touched by the kind gesture
and comments that both David and Brian paid to
her.
